Between Tuscany and Umbria, in this border "crest", 500m above sea level, where the characteristic Orvieto's soils combine with the particular climate of the high hills of Lake Trasimeno where the north wind dominates in winter and the lake mitigates the summer heat, stands the estate owned by the Counts Spalletti Trivelli.
Pomario is a small hillock very bright and isolated from the rest of the territory by a thick forest that surrounds it and that slopes down to the bottom of the valley to the river Nestore. Vigenti and olive groves have always been cultivated according to the dictates of organic farming.
THE TASTING ROOM
Upstairs the bright and welcoming tasting room has been created to make the wine tasting experience pleasant and enhance it. Its terrace is also the ideal place to taste the wines surrounded by woods beyond which you can admire splendid panoramic views between the hills of Lake Trasimeno and the city of Cortona. In the spring and summer months the flowers of the rose garden, which boasts a remarkable collection of ancient varieties, provide a splendid backdrop to the promenade that leads from the tasting room to the old spring and vineyards.
WELCOME
Guests, who want to know our products, are always welcome from 09.00 to 17.30, all day long, from Monday to Friday. For tastings and guided walks through the vineyard and olive grove, also possible on weekends, reservations are required. Tours are available in Italian, English and, if possible, in other languages on request.
THE RESERVE CELLAR
Made in the "cistern" of the old outbuilding, completely underground, it is furnished with the old boxes of potatoes from the Spalletti Trivelli estate in Trecenta in Veneto. They contain all the vintages of Pomario wines together with the historical bottles of Chianti Spalletti . The small space is the ideal place to talk about wine and taste vertically the vintages of the wines of the estate around the small table made from an old tonneau.
