The Olianas estate was born in 2000 out of a deep friendship between Stefano Casadei and the Olianas family of Gergei. Together they gave life to the dream of practising ethical agriculture, respectful of nature and its rhythms.
The estate covers about 30 hectares in the Sarcidano area, 60 kilometres north of Cagliari, and the land is farmed according to biodynamic practices: 3 hectares are used to grow fruit trees and produce fodder to feed the animals on the estate and to increase biodiversity. Today Olianas produces wines that are not only organic, but BioIntegral®: linked to the history of this land, the result of research, great dedication, expert hands and a constant commitment to safeguarding our ecosystem, to leave it intact to our children.
Our wines are Cannonau and Vermentino, as well as Bovale, Nasco and Carignano, the indigenous grape varieties that speak Sardinia. They are the result of painstaking work in the vineyard, with the utmost respect for the vines and the land. The use of herbicides, chemical fertilisers and synthetic products is forbidden. Harvesting is strictly manual, with grape selection directly in the field. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts and during vinification any intervention limits the addition of additives to a minimum. Stainless steel, precious woods and terracotta amphorae are the materials used for the refinement of Olianas wines: personality and character authentically Biointegrale®.
In Gergei, in the heart of the Sarcidano area, just 7 km from Barumini and 60 km from Cagliari, the Olianas winery produces Biointegrali® wines: obtained from ethical agriculture, respectful of the rhythms of nature and biodiversity, which prohibits the use of herbicides or synthetic products for the phytosanitary defence of plants. Vinification also takes place in terracotta amphorae, from which elegant, well-defined wines are obtained, strongly linked to the history of this land. The Estate is suspended in a valley rich in history and picturesque landscapes and is open for visits and tastings, light lunches/light dinners, corporate and private events.
