Discover the charm of our DOC wine, an authentic expression of the Montepulciano territory. This wine is a perfect blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Merlot (10%), which together create a unique and refined tasting experience. Produced in the municipality of Montepulciano, the grapes come from vineyards located at an altitude between 250 and 300 metres on sandy and silt soils. With a planting density of 5,000 vines per hectare and a yield of 65 quintals per hectare, this wine offers an annual production of 20,000 bottles.
Harvesting begins in mid-September and is strictly manual, with careful selection of the best and ripest bunches. Fermentation lasts about 15-20 days at controlled temperatures of 28-30°C in steel tanks. During the first few days, intense pumping over and delestage take place, which become shorter and softer towards the end of the process. Continuous tastings determine the moment of racking. The wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing takes place for 12 months in large-capacity Slavonian oak barrels. After the phase in wood, the wine settles in the bottle for a few months before release. This wine has an ageing capacity of 4-5 years.
On organoleptic examination, the wine has a bright ruby colour. The aromas and taste are elegant and fresh at the same time, with notes of red fruit, cherry and black cherry, accompanied by floral hints of violets and roses and light spices from the wood. On the palate, the wine is pleasant, fresh and balanced, with young, lively tannins.
The ideal serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C. The freshness of this Rosso makes it perfect with light dishes such as white meat, not too structured sauces and also with fish from the lake.
This DOC wine represents the perfect combination of tradition and innovation, offering a tasting experience that fully reflects the richness of the Montepulciano territory.
