Còlpetrone is one of the most important wineries in the DOCG area of Montefalco, one of the very rare Roman cities where viticulture was practiced intra moenia.
Starting from the fifteenth century, the municipal laws began to protect in some way vines and wine.
The "Sagrantino" grape would have been brought by Franciscan friars from Asia Minor. It is precisely to this grape, cultivated only and exclusively in these hills, that we owe the oenological fortune of the city of Montefalco.
The area of production of Montefalco wines is in the center of Umbria in a hilly area located in an excellent position and with particular geological characteristics.
Montefalco Sagrantino is produced in three versions: Montefalco Sagrantino secco, passito and Montefalco Sagrantino Sacer selezione, which is the result of studies carried out in recent years by the company staff on this vine with great potential.
During the visits, special attention is paid to the guests in all phases. The tour begins with a visit to the vineyards, before moving on to the cellar and the barrel room. In the tasting room we offer a selection of wines designed for each type of visit, accompanied by tastings of local products.
