NOTE
418 meters above sea level: this is the right height to embrace with a single glance three different crops, three ways of understanding the vineyard, its people, its fruits. Barbera, Moscato, Brachetto: between the Alps and the Apennines, the hill of Alice is the wonderful crossroads where different characteristics meet and merge into a single essence.
We are in Alto Monferrato, immersed in an extraordinary landscape between the provinces of ... From up here you can see vineyards as far as the eye can see: the 350 hectares of the 100 winemakers of the Alice Bel Colle winery.
In these white, calcareous lands, suitable for aromatic vines, the summer sun reflects its light on the bunches, enhancing their scents: from Moscato to Barbera, Alice Bel Colle wines are first drunk with the nose. They are distinguished by colors, tastes, structures; but they have in common a single territory, a single philosophy, aimed at the careful selection of grapes and the reduction of yields per hectare, in search of an olfactory persistence able to radiate over the entire range.
Founded in 1955, the Cantina di Alice Bel Colle has been designed for the transformation of red wines. Evidence of this original layout can be found in the basement of the four-storey structure, where the cement tanks currently used for the high quality reds are still located.
Although for an initial period the winery focused its production mainly on this great red wine, the winery aimed at the vinification of the aromatic sweet wines Moscato and Brachetto, with the technological evolution, the vineyard park was then converted to the cultivation of the latter grape varieties, leaving only the most naturally suited areas for this prestigious production.
